We have colors

I had a break through this weekend: I am basing the wedding decor on the napkin rings that I fell in love with in Somerset Weddings. This magazine was ridiculously expensive, but it has tons of great ideas for wedding crafts.

There’s no photo on the site of the napkin rings. I’ll have to scan in a pic when I get home.

Anyway, the rings are made mostly from copper. It’s a fall wedding (well, early September), and copper is a fall color that I like. I also like green (as does James), so I figured maybe copper and forest green as the main colors. That will make Mom happy, since she never liked the idea of brown bridesmaid dresses.

I also looked at some copper and brass tiaras. My dress is “candlelight” and there are some copper tones in it, so a copper tiara could work. And they’re cheaper. Dwarvesong has some pretty, plain ones for only $28.

I’m thinking of getting paint swatches to start to plan some stuff out. Especially since my wedding party is spread out across the East Coast.

But yay for making a decision about colors, finally.
